| Description |
| Critics have had a lot to say about the BMW 5 Series complaining that it's complicated to use and they have gone over the top with the design and styling, however the 5 Series is an eye catching car and able to handle all you can throw at it for an executive car, its hard to come up with any down sides to the new BMW 5 Series. |

The new BMW 7 Series design was questionable when it came out and the 5 Series followed the design with sharp angles a sculpted body and a large back end. The new design is less noticeable in the Touring estate version.
The i-Drive is much easier to use on the 5 Series, it's still not simple but the changes are welcomed. New in the 5 Series is the Active Steering feature which reacts to the speed the car is going by altering power assistance and the steering ratio, it takes a little getting used to but once you get used to it you will appreciate this feature and its optional if you don't want it.
The 5 Series handles the road flawlessly, the technology in car keeps the back end under control in realistic situations and the car is well refined. The 5 series is a great from all angles and is more fun than the Mercedes-Benz E Class.
The diesel engines are excellent, and the basic petrol 520i model is a good ride for motorway drivers. The BMW 7 Series may not be the choice of car once you drive the 545i V8 as it is just as capable. |
