For a compact crossover SUV the 2008 Acura RDX offers fantastic all wheel drive with a very powerful turbocharged engine, it looks sharp inside and out and contends heavily with the BMW X3.
The RDX is capable of comfortably fitting five adults despite its appearance for outside. The RDX rides like a luxury sedan due to its suspension which is fully independent of the body structure. |

The RDX offers a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine and has 240 break horse power. There is a 5 speed automatic transmission which has a manual shift over ride. There is an all-wheel-drive system which delivers power to all four wheels much like the Acura RL but in addition to maximize handling and traction it distributes torque between the left and right wheels.
The RDX is capable of achieving a 0-60 in less than 7 seconds! Although this is impressive it is lacking in the all important fuel consumption area, with fuel prices at an all time high the RDX achieves 17 mpg in the city and just 22 mpg on the highway. The RDX is also only capable of towing around 1,500 pounds.
In keeping with Acura''s other models the high level of standard equipment in the RDX is clear to see with heated leather front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, power door locks and windows, Bluetooth connectivity, moon roof and externally with xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The entertainment package includes a seven-speaker audio system with 6-disc CD/MP3 changer and satellite radio. There is an auxiliary input jack for equipment such as i-Pods. Most features of the audio system can also be controlled via the steering wheel.
There is an additional technology package for the RDX that includes a navigation system and features information on real-time traffic, a camera for rear view parking and a surround-sound audio system with 10 speakers.
The selling points of the RDX would have to feature around the styling of the vehicle which is luxurious, the sport performance it offers as a compact crossover and the standard options and features most others don''t offer. The driving experience can be altered for most weather conditions to achieve a smooth and comfortable ride using the all wheel drive system combined with the already powerful engine. |
