(handbediening), luchtvering, getint glas omdat ik mijn prive bentley heb verkocht wil een engelse vriend van mij ook met deze hobby stoppen. de bentley wordt net als bij mij te weinig gebruikt en daarom mag hij weg. hij heeft een multipoint omvl gasinstallatie met 110!! liter tank, kostte 5 jaar geleden 3000 euro. hij heeft slechts 170.000 kilometer gelopen en de onderhoudshistorie is grotendeels gedocumenteerd met facturen en apk rapporten die ook laten zien dat de auto de laatste 5 jaar slechts 4000 km heeft gereden.... ik vond de bentley niet lekker rijden en tegen de eigenaar gezegd dat ie hem eerst een grote beurt moet laten geven, dan loopt hij nog mooier. hij heeft daarom nog een grote beurt gehad met nieuwe ontsteking, hoogteregeling opnieuw afstellen, nieuwe olieen etc,etc. hij rijdt goed zowel op gas als benzine, start altijd ’first time’, automaat schakelt boterzacht, centrale vergrendeling, net houtwerk met wat droogtekraakjes, beige leer (nergens gescheurd!), electrische in hoogte en lengte verstelbare stoelen, electrische ramen en spiegels, turbo r velgen. er zijn net 2 nieuwe voorbanden gemonteerd, de achterbanden zijn vorig jaar al vervangen. het betreft hier een verlengde mulsanne turbo uit 1985, dus belastingvrij! de kleurstelling met balmoral green metallic buiten en beige leer met groene piping binnen en beige vloerbedekking compleet met groene lamswollen ’overrugs’ staan hem zeer goed, het is een echte klassieke kleurstelling. hij is voorzien van de dubbele koplampen (was een van de weinige opties) en de extra voetensteuntjes voor de achterpassagiers zijn ook als nieuw. verbruik op gas 1 op 4,5 dus omgerekend met de huidige gasprijs tov benzine rij je 1 op 11.......doe dat maar eens met een andere auto van 2300 kg vol staal, hout en leer en met 300+ pk! hij is inmiddels gekeurd bij de rdw en dus voorzien van een nieuw kenteken en verse apk de uiterlijke staat is redelijk goed, hij heeft een paar plekjes, maar eer een bentley is doorgerot ben je echt nog 20 jaar verder....onderzijde heeft wat vliegroest, makkelijk verwijderbaar. het lakwerk op het dak is niet zo mooi, zitten wat osmosevlekjes in.. maar de auto is zo hoog dat je dat eigenlijk niet eens ziet... ik zou zeggen kom kijken, rijden en genieten! maar ik waarschuw eenieder: eenmaal een bentley gereden ben je snel verkocht.

The editors at TheCarConnection.com have driven various versions of the Bentley Continental lineup to bring you firsthand driving impressions of the British grand touring coupe and convertible. Editors also compared the Bentley Continental with competitive vehicles to bring you more information and have compiled a companion full review of opinions from other respected car reviews to help in your new-car research.The 2010 Bentley Continental line of coupes and convertibles continues to grow with limited editions. Already offered as a GT Speed and GTC Speed, the Continental range includes a new Supersports edition for 2010, with even more power and finery. In all, there are five Bentley Continental two-doors, each with a wide range of cosmetic and luxury touches available for personalization.The two-door carries a base price, including gas-guzzler taxes and destination charges, of about $185,000, which zooms to more than $275,000 with the new Supersports edition. The competition? A scant handful of machines, including the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class coupe, the Ferrari California, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe.Between the Continental GT coupes and GTC convertibles, there’s a distinct choice offered to buyers. While both cars are spun from pieces common to the Bentley Continental Flying Spur sedan, their looks and driving appeal are more distinct than you might see at first glance. The imposing elegance of the pillarless Conti GT coupe is more modern and appears smaller than its actual length and weight confirm. The Continental GTC convertibles, with the roof arc sheared off, take on a more timeless, vintage look, with vivid creases on the body above the front and rear fenders giving it a thicker, more static appearance. It’s more of a boulevardier, though it shares the coupe’s circular headlamps, chromed matrix grille, and LED tail lamps. The cabin of all Continentals mixes traditional materials and shapes smartly. Bentley logos, chrome, and wood trim span the Continental GT’s wide dual-binnacle dash, with a Breitling timepiece ticking away in the center of the dash, surrounded by walnut or knurled aluminum-or whatever custom trim the owner specifies. Bentley takes the homage to its zenith with the Mulliner Driving Specification; it wears diamond-quilted leather seats, a knurled shift knob, and a three-spoke steering wheel, and on the Continental GT Speed and GTC Speed, the Mulliner package adds dark-finished metal trim, a rear spoiler, and wider exhaust pipes for a slightly menacing look.All versions of the 2010 Continental GT series share a basic drivetrain: a 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged, W-12 engine that feeds its power to an all-wheel-drive system through a six-speed automatic shifter. The GT and GTC get the "base" specification of 552 horsepower, a locomotive-style figure that vaults the coupe and convertible to 60 mph in a promised 5.1 seconds despite its unseemly 5,500-pound curb weight. In the GT Speed and GTC Speed, the W-12 is tuned to make 600 hp. Dropping about a half-second off that 0-60 mph time, the Speed versions have even more vivid acceleration with a cardiac lope of a soundtrack. Top speed? Bentley says 195 mph. And that’s not the end of the twiddling with the 12-cylinder; in the Continental Supersports, Bentley’s big engine twists out 621 hp, 590 lb-ft of torque, and fires the car to a 3.7-second 0-60 mph time and a claimed 204-mph top speed. All versions share a six-speed sequential-shifting automatic with paddle controls and a sport driving mode, which maintains seamless gearchanges but executes them more quickly. The Continental GT also is fitted with standard all-wheel drive, with a Torsen differential doling out torque as traction needs shift, from front wheels to rear wheels. Fuel economy is a miserable 10/17 mpg, though the Supersports edition can run on E85-blend ethanol.The 2010 Bentley Continental coupes and convertibles ride as expected-creamy-but handling’s far better than you might expect from such a hefty car. The combination of an independent air suspension with computer-controlled shocks and a three-mode ride control called Continuous Damping Control (CDC), blunts most every road impact, though Bentley’s dialed in lighter steering feel and the shocks and steering both raise their input levels as the car’s pulse quickens. It’s amazingly willing to press hard and deep into corners, well past the driver’s desire to crumple anything this heavy and expensive. The Conti’s brakes are big and deep-especially the $16,500 optional carbon-ceramic rotors, the most powerful brakes ever found on a production car, Bentley says. Speed editions get lower ride heights and 20-inch wheels, as does the Supersport, which also picks up a reprogrammed transmission for quicker shifting and a wider rear track for improved roadholding.With four seats and the same overall length as two Smart Fortwo city cars, the 2010 Bentley Continental GT should have more room for its backseat passengers. The driver and front passenger won’t complain, since they have plenty of shoulder and knee room, as well as ample headroom to go with their fabulously supportive seats. The backseat’s simply too difficult to enter easily, and legroom and shoulder room are cramped for style. Bentley’s trimmed the Continental from front to back by about 10 inches to create a more athletic look for the two-door, and that chop comes right out of rear-seat room. Adults forced in the back of the GT and GTC will complain about the lack of room, but all passengers will marvel at the Continental’s sensory rush of top-quality materials-from the plush carpets and fine wood and leather, all the way to the padded ski-sack pass-through that expands the cargo room somewhat. The Continental has some of the most obscenely well-selected, well-fitted materials found in any car built today.The 2010 Bentley Continental GT and GTC have not been crash-tested by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) or the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). All sport standard front, side, and curtain airbags, as well as anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and all-wheel drive. Convertibles are fitted with automatic pop-up roll bars for added rollover protection, while Speed and Supersports versions have revised stability control that aims to prevent a vehicle spin, while allowing some entertaining wheelspin. A rearview camera helps with the Continental’s visibility; even in the GTC convertible, it can be difficult to gauge the Conti’s far-and-away rear end.Build it yourself? No, the Bentley Continental isn’t a do-it-yourselfer. But it is as close to handcrafted as you can come, with choices for interior trim and colors that can personalize any coupe or convertible right from the factory. All Continentals offer standard electronic climate control; soft-close doors and decklid; Bluetooth connectivity; and a DVD navigation system that also controls climate and audio functions. The collision of controls for the systems leads to confusing inputs and lots of frustration. Bentley also specifies Sirius Satellite Radio and a six-CD changer as standard. Bentley Continental GTC convertibles add a power top that folds in 25 seconds and has an indulgent feel and great sound-damping ability. Bentley offers an upgraded 1,000-watt Naim audio system with 14 speakers for a mere $6,000, but our editors couldn’t recommend its thin sound and lack of user controls for audio quality. On the recommended list: a Mulliner package of quilted leather, knurled chrome, and turned aluminum trim, as well as the optional lambs-wool rugs and the available iPod interface.

Editors also researched reviews from other respected auto Web sites and have compiled the best into a companion full review, to show you how different sources report on the Flying Spur-and to help you decide which advice to take when shopping for a new car.The Bentley Continental two-doors and the four-door Flying Spur sedan were catalysts: They completely reinvented the fusty Bentley brand and brought a whole new crew of rap moguls, reality stars, and pro athletes to the fold, for better or worse. For 2010, the Flying Spur carries on with the same styling it’s worn since early in the decade, albeit in a couple of new colors. Prices begin at just less than $200,000, and the primary competition for those dollars are machines like the Maserati Quattroporte, the Audi S8, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and the Porsche Panamera.It’s been on the market since 2006, and the 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur’s formal roofline is looking a little less compelling with the years. The Flying Spur is long, low, and wide, but not terribly rakish as four-door sedans like the 2010 Jaguar XJ can be. There’s no mistaking its streamlined Bentley grille, and the chromed mesh grilles and air intakes between the quad-oval headlights, which still look contemporary, but the more upright pillars and glass areas don’t make the same visual impact. The Flying Spur’s deep character line running from front wheel wells to the taillights has been upstaged at home in Britain by that new Jaguar, even at home in Crewe by the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne. It’s low-key and not flamboyant, even on close inspection-the opposite of the two-door Bentley Continental GT. Inside, the Flying Spur’s cabin is a twin to the two-door’s dash, with a dual-binnacle theme dressed in walnut or chestnut veneers, all precisely hand-cut and matched to create a mirror-image grain symmetry. Front and center on the dash is a Breitling timepiece, flanked by a steering wheel in hand-stitched leather, stainless-steel pedals and footrest, and real chrome pulls for the air vents.The 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur goes rogue under the hood, where it features a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine that produces 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The unusual engine layout offsets pairs of piston cylinders in a way that generates very well-balanced engine motions and prodigious power, and it’s more compact than a traditional V-12. The massive horsepower and torque are distributed to an all-wheel-drive system through a six-speed automatic that’s up to the chore of pushing around the 5,400-pound Spur. Bentley claims a 0-60 mph time of less than five seconds and a top speed of 194 mph for the standard Spur; a Flying Spur Speed introduced last year hits 600 hp and 554 lb-ft of torque, which cuts acceleration times to 60 mph to 4.5 seconds and lifts top speed to 200 mph.Though it’s capable of super speeds, the 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is focused on a refined, sophisticated driving experience. It’s strong, silent, and fast, as it should be. Cruising at 100 mph is effortless, and the Spur quietly glides over road imperfections to convince you it’s actually going much slower. The engine emits a low, distant rumble and pairs it with a slight turbo whoosh, though it’s all muted properly, and thanks to a complex computer-controlled suspension, the Spur feels tremendously stable even when the road coarsens. The steering’s without much sensation, but it’s precise and fast for such a large car, and it gives the Spur a maneuverable feel, though it’s well over 17 feet long. The sport of driving is very subtly enjoyed from behind the big leather-wrapped wheel-smoky burnouts are entirely possible, but restraint, please-especially with the Speed edition and its lowered suspension, 20-inch wheels, and available carbon-ceramic brakes. The Spur’s incredible heft and power require great stopping, and Bentley claims the Spur’s huge discs are the most powerful on the road today.The five-seat Flying Spur has a plush, well-crafted cabin, but it’s better to ride in front. Those front seats are supportive yet soft, and can be adjusted perfectly to suit most drivers. The controls are somewhat elusive at first glance, but grow easier to use over time-even if critics point out that some are related to those in the former Volkswagen Phaeton sedan. In back, the Spur is a little tighter than some other limousine-class cars, and it doesn’t offer the same smoking-room sensations of the larger, more sensational Bentley Arnage. There’s no drinks cabinet-this is the driver’s Bentley-but backseat passengers can access the Spur’s entertainment system. The justification for the Flying Spur’s incredible price is in craftsmanship; it’s hand-fitted with leather, wood, and chrome details that make "cheaper" cars like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class seem pedestrian. Bentley’s Crewe workshops do all the interior trimming by hand-and materials are carefully selected and finished, such as the unbleached, unstained veneer used on the Spur’s dash and doors.The 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is exceptionally rare and expensive, and as such, it hasn’t been crash-tested by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) or the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). A full roster of airbags and safety features-including side and side-curtain airbags and electronic stability control-is included.A dizzying set of standard equipment can be topped with extravagant options. The 2010 Flying Spur comes with automatic four-zone climate control; power closing for the doors; multi-adjustable power seats with a massaging function; and a navigation and audio system that have unfortunately complex secondary controls driven through an LCD screen. Bentley offers adaptive cruise control as an option, along with a Naim 1,000-watt audio system that hasn’t impressed editors as much as its price tag shocks them. Personalization is the key to making the Spur distinctive-and terribly expensive, too.
