Jaguar XK8 4.0 - The car is in very good to excellent condition. Serviced at Gaudin Jaguar in Las Vegas for the past 6 years and all service is up to date and on file. The car fires right up, burns clean, no leaks or overheating. Cold AC, hot heat, no indicator lights on in dash. Beautiful paint, glossy wood, firm seats, clean tint job. Good shocks/struts, very firm ride, no rattles. New Brakes all around installed at dealer. Front tires 80% rear tires 60%. New convertible top motor/mechanism installed at dealer. Coolant service including hoses. Synthetic oil change. All dealer serviced. Perfect acceleration and shifting. No mechanical issues whatsoever this car is ready for the road.
Everything works except the auto dimming rear view mirror and the keyless entry remote is worn out. The Sport button in the center console is missing the beauty cover as well.
The 1997-1999 4.0 motors were manufactered using stiff plastic timing chain tensioners which became brittle and broke with age, throwing out the motors. In 2000 the manufacturer revised the tensioners to include a spring and the problem became very rare. However in 2001, they made the final revision and manufactured the tensioners from metal reinforced with springs and the issue was resolved.

The only minus on this car is a little peeling of the clear coat on the sunroof but we put new struts in the rear. The car runs exellent and we are selling it as is.

2011 Jaguar XJ Review
Scratch those ideas and notions you’ve been harboring about Jaguar as past its prime. It’s only just coming into it. The XK? Fantastic on all fronts. The XF? A stunner, and a true challenger to the E-Class and 5-Series, at long last.
But what about the big, frumpy XJ? Ah, that’s the best hook of the story. Jaguar’s ditched the XJ’s old hoop skirts and semi-Victorian garb for some ultra-chic evening wear, convincingly evoking swinging London and hipster L.A. more than anything you’ve ever seen wearing its initials.
Frankly, it’s long overdue--the XJ felt completely modern when it switched to an aluminum body in 2004--but now it’s at long last a stunning, sexy sedan true to the current Jaguar form.
