Jaguar XK8 4.0 - The car is in very good to excellent condition. Serviced at Gaudin Jaguar in Las Vegas for the past 6 years and all service is up to date and on file. The car fires right up, burns clean, no leaks or overheating. Cold AC, hot heat, no indicator lights on in dash. Beautiful paint, glossy wood, firm seats, clean tint job. Good shocks/struts, very firm ride, no rattles. New Brakes all around installed at dealer. Front tires 80% rear tires 60%. New convertible top motor/mechanism installed at dealer. Coolant service including hoses. Synthetic oil change. All dealer serviced. Perfect acceleration and shifting. No mechanical issues whatsoever this car is ready for the road.
Everything works except the auto dimming rear view mirror and the keyless entry remote is worn out. The Sport button in the center console is missing the beauty cover as well.
The 1997-1999 4.0 motors were manufactered using stiff plastic timing chain tensioners which became brittle and broke with age, throwing out the motors. In 2000 the manufacturer revised the tensioners to include a spring and the problem became very rare. However in 2001, they made the final revision and manufactured the tensioners from metal reinforced with springs and the issue was resolved.

A completely rust free example of this coveted 1973 Jaguar XKE Series III convertible roadster with its original matching #'s (7S10907LB) V12 engine with only 32k original miles, original and very rare and desirable 4 speed manual transmission and with all of it's original factory specifications and options including original light tan leather interior and carpets and power steering! This is a very rare factory 4 speed and air conditioned car and this beauty still boasts all five original wire chrome wheels with its original 'knock off' mallet, jack and tools and its completely original black convertible top and matching tonneau cover!
Purchased from the original owner in 1975 by the car's second owner who repainted the car black from its unpopular original Sable Brown color and who serviced the car for many years at the renown 'British & European Car Repairs & Service' of Salt Lake City, Utah. The car's engine runs as smooth as silk and the 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the car drives exactly as it should with such low original miles.
The car has no rust whatsoever with the floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas completely original, solid and rust-free! The car shows no signs of any accidents of any kind and has a completely straight body with only very minor imperfections, if any, noticeable upon very close inspection. The car looks extremely impressive with its repainted black color paint and still boasts it's original tan leather interior which quite remarkably is in completely original condition and has only very minor imperfections for its age with the door panels, headliner, dashboard, seats and carpets all in very fine original condition. The original black soft top still boasts its extremely rare and rarely seen or known original factory 'Tilt seats before lowering or raising top' riveted plate still in place and the cars original matching tonneau cover is also in very fine shape and neither piece has shrunk or have any rips or tears. The factory chrome wire wheels are also in great shape and the car has it's original spare wire wheel located in the trunk along with its original tools, jack and rubber mallet for the knock off wheel centers.
This is a rare opportunity to own a completely rust free example of an always garaged and virtually completely original 1973 Jaguar XKE V12 Roadster with its original 4 speed manual transmission in very fine condition throughout - owned for over thirty-five years, since 1975, by only one mature and careful owner with an astonishingly low original 32K miles!

2011 Jaguar XJ Review
Scratch those ideas and notions you’ve been harboring about Jaguar as past its prime. It’s only just coming into it. The XK? Fantastic on all fronts. The XF? A stunner, and a true challenger to the E-Class and 5-Series, at long last.
But what about the big, frumpy XJ? Ah, that’s the best hook of the story. Jaguar’s ditched the XJ’s old hoop skirts and semi-Victorian garb for some ultra-chic evening wear, convincingly evoking swinging London and hipster L.A. more than anything you’ve ever seen wearing its initials.
Frankly, it’s long overdue--the XJ felt completely modern when it switched to an aluminum body in 2004--but now it’s at long last a stunning, sexy sedan true to the current Jaguar form. And with the sheen of performance layered on by a marvelous 5.0-liter V-8, it’s at the very top of any luxury sedan shopper’s must-drive list.
