UK car registration 1 O defies economic downturn, selling for £210,242. Investor confidence in top quality private number plates remains high.

At that figure, 1 O enters the top ten of the UK’s most expensive private car number plate. 1 O, which had a reserve price of £10,000, was purchased by an unnamed telephone bidder.
The sale, held by Scottish Motor Auctions Ltd on behalf of DVLA, is taking place over the three days from 28th to 30th January 2009. In addition to 1 O and 1 HRH, great interest is being shown in the number 3 S which is also being sold at the current auction.
