26 Mar 2009

Cape Fox Professional Services is awarded $400,000 modification to Navy Traffic Safety Contract for Honda SMARTrainer Simulators to as tool in motorcycle training program.

Manassas, VA. (PRWEB) March 26, 2009 -- Cape Fox Professional Services (CPFS) has been awarded a $400,000.00 modification to the Traffic Safety and Recreational Off-Duty Safety (TS/RODS) Contract with the Navy. The modification calls for the introduction of 61 Honda SMARTrainer (Safe Motorcyclist Awareness and Recognition Trainer) motorcycle simulators at Navy installations worldwide.

The Navy and CFPS will utilize the Honda SMARTrainers as a tool in the Traffic Safety and Recreational Off-Duty Safety curriculum. The SMARTrainer is designed to help riders safely link riding courses to actual live traffic scenarios by simulating 17 different riding environments. Driving environments that the SMARTrainer includes are urban, suburban, mountain and settings with nighttime, daylight and foggy conditions.

"The SMARTrainer is a great partner to pair with our on-base training courses as the simulator takes the rider safely through various traffic situations, in varied working environments, both afloat and ashore," states Zack Sionakides, TS/RODS Program Manager. "The SMARTrainer is an innovative and valuable tool that will aid in the mission of saving the lives of our Sailors, and preventing vehicular mishaps by our Sailors."

The SMARTrainer is a valuable tool to help both those new to motorcycle riding, and to returning riders who need to brush up on mental skills needed for safe riding. The trainers add another useful tool that aid in the effectiveness of the TS/RODS program.

The TS/RODS program was developed to significantly reduce deaths and injuries as a result of traffic and recreational accidents. The current program includes training in basic, advanced, and sport-bike motorcycle safety; basic and advanced off-road vehicle safety; traffic safety and recreational safety.

CFPS centrally manages and directs the administration of the TS/RODS Program which has already trained 37,000 Sailors in Fiscal Year 09, and anticipates training tens of thousands of Sailors more throughtout the year.

Cape Fox Professional Services (CFPS) was certified for participation in the SBA 8(a) Program on November 12, 2003 as an ANC 8(a) and certified in December 2003 as a HUBZone Small Business.
