Florence, KY (Vocus) April 24, 2009 -- Featuring a new lens design in a hearty IP67 housing, Balluff has introduced the first model of its new BOS 50K series sensors. With an impressive 2m sensing range, this background suppression sensor and its highly-visible red light emitter is simple to set up and adjust. It is a superior choice for installations where laser sensors may cause safety concerns or perform poorly due to contaminants in the air.
Ideal for extended range applications such as large roll runout, hopper level control, and part counting for wood finishing equipment, the new BOS 50K has excellent gray shift capability at an affordable price. The long sensing range also offers the advantage of being able to install the sensor at a distance from hostile processes.
Later this year, Balluff will introduce the balance of the BOS 50K family, which will include diffuse, retro-reflective and thru-beam models.
