Organization’s can benefits from auditing competency criteria guidance originally developed for Certification Bodies and their auditors
Southfield, Mich. (Vocus) -- The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) has been granted the rights to distribute the IATF Auditor Guide for ISO/TS 16949 to companies worldwide. This document provides clear and concise details concerning how to demonstrate compliance to customer requirements established through the third party audit process. Originally intended for certification bodies and their auditors, this document can be used as an assessment tool by an organization’s management to maintain key customer expectations. More importantly, internal auditors should follow the process to support their organization’s success.
"The real strength of a quality management system is the internal audit process coupled with an active and engaged management team," stated Mike Brennan, managing director, International Automotive Oversight Bureau (IAOB).
The IATF Auditor Guide defines the activities and required auditor competencies in the ISO/TS 16949 audit process. The competencies address areas of known auditor and audit concern and reflect how the IATF evaluates auditors, audits and certification bodies.
Organization’s using this guidance document will be able to save time and money by ensuring that their quality management system is meeting the competency criteria before their official audit. View a sample of the guide: http://www.aiag.org/staticcontent/files/IATF_AuditorGuide_Sample.pdf
