(PRWEB) July 22, 2009 -- For Craig Morrison, taking over as the new Franchisee for the JAXQuickfit Tyres Noosaville store is like coming home twice.
A Noosaville native, Morrison recently returned to the town he was born and bred in after more than 20 years away … and he’s also returned to the industry he has spent the majority of his career in.
Morrison and wife Camille have big plans for the former company-owned store, which they stepped in to manage two months ago, prior to taking on the Franchise at the beginning of July.
"This is the ideal opportunity for me...it’s a chance to ’come home’ and return to the community I love, running a business that I have great expertise in and with a brand that I think is the industry benchmark," Craig Morrison said.
"Already, Camille and I have made some changes to the showroom to make it a friendlier, more comfortable environment for our customers, we’ve cleaned up the workshop and we’ll have some major new equipment in by the end of the year."
JAXQuickfit Tyres Noosa-ville already boasts a four-wheel laser alignment machine and a wheel changing machine capable of handling today’s very fashionable large diameter wheels.
"You have to be flexible in a business like this … we’ve got the young guys who want to dress up their cars with the large wheels, we’ve got the normal suburban family cars, there’s local business people, as well as some agricultural work from the farmers in the surrounding areas," Craig explained.
Originally training as a diesel mechanic at the Nambour Sugar Mill, Craig Morrison moved to a Toyota Dealer to complete his apprenticeship, then on to various car dealers as a Service Manager.
That took him to Darwin where he moved into the tyre industry, taking on a Bridgestone retail outlet and then on to Adelaide and a long stint running the company’s biggest store.
A move to Mullins Wheels was next, as both a State Manager and then Marketing Manager, before the decision to come home to Noosaville and join JAXQuickfit Tyres.
"Between my staff & I, we have about 40 years’ mechanical experience so we can back-up our major tyre brands and huge range of wheels with brakes, suspension and mechanical servicing."
Camille Morrison has spent her working life in the fuel industry and plays a big role at JAXQuickfit Tyres Noosaville in customer service and the general running of the business.
Away from their fast-growing new business, Craig and Camille also have their hands full managing a busy family life with five children aged between two and 16 years!
