Upbeat opinions offered by the Federal Reserve left RV stocks on the rise. Dealers like Pedata RV Center see the rising stocks as a positive change for the RV industry.
Phoenix, AZ (Vocus) August 21, 2009 -- The Federal Reserve offered upbeat observations of the RV industry; reassuring investors as the central bank noted that the economy is leveling out. The positive endorsements were followed by an immediate positive change in the RV industry as several major RV stocks closed higher. Pedata RV Center sees the federal encouragement and the resulting rising stocks as a sign of positive change in the RV industry.
Pedata RV Center’s Clint Ethington said, "The industry’s definitely going through some positive changes. We’re not just hanging on; we’re moving forward. Many dealers are increasing inventory. There’s news of expansion amongst large dealers and wholesalers. We’re hearing more talk of the "future" of the industry and what we can expect. And I have to say I like what I hear."
Some of the positive change reflected by rising stocks as of August 12, 2009 is: Spartan Motors (which rose 6.64% to close at $5.62), Drew Industries Inc., Equity LifeStyle Properties Inc., Flexsteel Industries Inc., Thor Industries Inc., Winnebago Industries Inc., Navistar Internal Corp. Rising stocks outpaced those that fell 5-to-2 on the New York Stock Exchange.
More positive talk from the Feds after their assessment of the industry in June indicated that they do in fact see the industry as rebounding rather than floundering. After a two day policy meeting the central bank left interest rates unchanged (as expected).
