New Cars, Winterizing New Cars |
For the owners of some new cars, winter in the US is harsh with wind, snow, ice and deep cold weather. This weather can wreak havoc on new cars, especially if they aren't prepared for the weather.
It is imperative that when the winter months are getting close that you do some maintenance on new cars to ensure that your new cars can survive the winter months. This will also help to protect your new cars from any damage the winter weather may cause to new cars and could save you a lot of money fixing new cars throughout the cold season.
The first stage of winterizing new cars is to ensure that new cars are in good repair over all. New cars that are in good condition are much less likely to break down due to the cold weather.
You may want to consider switching your new cars motor oil for synthetic oil. New cars regular oil can be sluggish and heavier in cold weather, while synthetic oil in new cars keeps its viscosity. This will help to reduce the wear on your new cars engine for those cold starts in the morning on the way to work.
Before winter hits, you should have your new cars fluid levels checked, topped up and replaced if necessary. You should ensure that your new cars windshield washer fluid has antifreeze in it so it won't freeze up in new cars. You'll likely need windshield washer fluid in your new cars tank for those days when it is slushy and dirty on the streets.
You will also want to check your new cars transmission fluid level. Your new cars transmission fluid should be at the optimum level on the dip stick and it should be a red color. If the new cars transmission fluid is brownish colored, you should have your transmission checked and the system flushed and replaced with new fluid.
Brake fluid is another important fluid to check in new cars. Be sure your new cars fluid tank is topped up and that your new cars brakes are workable but not too soft. You should have your new cars brakes checked to be sure they are in good repair in case you need to make any hard stops this winter season in new cars.
Ensure that your new cars radiator fluid is of the proper concentration of antifreeze and water. A too weak solution will freeze in cold weather leaving new cars stranded on the side of the road.
Check all of your new cars belts and hoses for their condition. Old or worn hoses and belts on new cars can become brittle and break in cold weather and potentially leaving you and your new cars stranded on the side of the road in your new cars during a cold snap of weather.
You should also change your new cars wiper blades so that they are strong enough to swipe off slush and snow. Have your new cars battery tested as well to ensure it charges properly. Most importantly, have your new cars tires checked for tread and air pressure. |
