Lexus supports life-saving air ambulance |

A £20,000 donation from Lexus has enabled the Devon Air Ambulance Trust to purchase new life-saving equipment. The money is helping to pay for a new defibrillator along with other vital equipment, for the airborne medical service strengthening its capacity to deliver emergency help across the county.
The money has been sourced through Lexus's pioneering cooperative marketing programme, which combines set sums from the cost of each new Lexus model sold in the UK with contributions from Lexus centres around the country to create a central fund for good causes. The donation to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust is supported by the Lexus Exeter and Lexus Plymouth centres.
Devon's air ambulance service was founded in 1992 as a result of the Ceri Thomas Appeal and is an independent charitable trust, with no Government or National Lottery funding. It operates two helicopters, which provide rapid transport for paramedic teams, medical supplies and equipment and which can reach 50 per cent of Devon within five minutes, the remainder within 15.
Caroline Creer, Devon Air Ambulance Trust's Business Development Manager said: We are pleased to be working with Lexus to help build a better future for Devon's air ambulances. This fantastic donation will ensure the helicopter has the most up-to-date medical equipment on board, making a real difference to the community we serve.
In acknowledgement of Lexus's support, the helicopter crews have added Lexus patches to their flying suits. |
