Skoda Auto to enter new continent

Skoda Auto is about to enter another continent. In October, first Skoda cars are going to be delivered to new customers in Australia.

The brand will offer the Skoda Roomster and Skoda Octavia models, including their vRS versions. The launch is planned for the Australian International Motor Show 2007 in Sydney (October 11 - 21). Skoda will start its operations with approx. 14 dealerships across the country.

"The launch in Australia is another symbol of Skoda Auto's international expansion," said Fred Kappler, Skoda Auto BOD Member responsible for sales and marketing.

Australia will become the fifth continent where Skoda Auto sells its cars. At the same time, the country is rounding off the number of the brand´s markets to 100.

Skoda Auto sold altogether 311,062 cars worldwide over the first six months of 2007 (+13.2 % compared to 2006). In 2006, Skoda Auto´s total sales worldwide exceeded the half-a-million threshold for the first time in the Company's history, reaching 549,667 Skoda vehicles delivered to costumers (+11.7% compared to 2005).
