Cheap Cars, Ways to Find Cheap Cars

Virtually every man and women will encounter this challenge at some point: where can I find cheap cars? In the early 21st century, you can find cheap cars in more places then ever before.

One traditional source of relatively cheap cars is an auction. There are vehicle auctions held in many places at various times. These auctions are generally able to sell cheap cars because they are either government property (the cars were repossessed) or they are of less than stellar quality. It is not guranteed, however, that all cars found at these auctions will be cheap. Cars are often sold at auction for high prices, particlarly classic cars.

Cheap cars can also be found, these days, on the internet. There are several auction sites online that claim to sell cheap cars. Car-auction is one such site. They advertise the fact that they not only sell "cheap cars", but they sells virtually for free. According to the site, cars can be found for up to 90% off retail value.

Not all cheap cars found at auctions and online are in bad shape. In fact, not all of these cheap cars are even old. Some are less than a year old, and are simply being sold at auction because the owner couldn't keep up payments. If you can find a government-run vehicle auction, it may be a gold mine of cheap cars.

There is a website that actually keeps track of these cheap car auctions run by the government. Go autoauctions.gsa.gov (it is a government site) and you can get all the information you need to find yourself a cheap car.

These government auctions, while they can be a great source for finding cheap cars, are not that easy to find. I did a search at the above-mentioned site for auctions in Michigan, and it gave me no results. To find one of these cheap car auctions, I would have to travel to an adjacent state, and even then there were only 5 sites holding government auctions.

If you are determined to find cheap cars, however, and you have the time and resources to do a bit of traveling, then this may be the trick for you.

As I mentioned above, however, auctions are not the only place to find cheap cars. Traditional dealerships can still be used, you just have to know how to deal with them. If you want cheap cars from a dealership, you need to go in with a plan, and stick with it. Don't let them talk you in to staying there when you want to leave. Your most powerful weapon in the search for cheap cars is your ability to walk away.

To find cheap cars, you will have to be persistent. If you can't find a government auction, or some other auction that sells cheap cars, you will have to go a more traditional route. It can be done, however, so don't give up.
