J.D. Byrider "Night of Speed" event to feature racing champion Tony Stewart
Carmel, Ind. (PRWEB) July 23, 2008 -- Racing fans are in for the ride of their lives this year as the Kroger Speed Fest at O'Reilly Raceway Park gets underway later this month. J.D. Byrider's Night of Speed event will kick off the Speed Fest on July 24.
The Kroger Speed Fest is open to the public and is three exiting nights of racing. J.D. Byrider's Night of Speed is the kickoff event featuring two electrifying races: the Toyota Challenge Racing Classic, a 30-lap USAC Mopar National Midget Championship Series race and the J.D. Byrider 100 USAC Silver Crown Race presented by TourHendricksCounty.com.

Indiana native and racing champion Tony Stewart, who has been a part of the J.D. Byrider team since 1997, will appear at a private J.D. Byrider event that evening. Man's best friend will also be on hand with the Indiana State Police Canine Division conducting a demonstration for fans. The Tony Stewart Foundation will present bullet-resistant vests for 40 police dogs.
The Night of Speed will once again get the green light from the J.D. Byrider & American Heart Association's Start! Girls, who are instantly recognizable by their green hair, green t-shirts and green shoe laces. J.D. Byrider is bringing representatives of the American Heart Association to the Night of Speed event to offer free blood pressure screenings to racing fans. The company is proud to sponsor the screenings, which may have saved a life following an earlier event: A racing fan received a warning about high blood pressure from an American Heart Association screener. Follow-up medical tests revealed dangerous blockages in his heart, and treatment the next day almost certainly spared the fan a heart attack.

After the Night of Speed event kicks off the Kroger Speed Fest on Thursday, the action continues for racing fans with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series "Power Stroke Diesel 200" on Friday, July 25. On Saturday, the NASCAR Nationwide Series "Kroger 200" takes place, offering a third straight day of high speed excitement. Both of these events are open to the public.
