Married couples can save up to 1.5 times more on their car insurance than singletons, according to research from Confused.com - the UK's leading car insurance comparison service.
Cardiff, UK (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- Despite the fact that the UK is experiencing the lowest marriage rates since 1862, getting hitched seems to pay when it comes to car insurance. Married couples save an average of £82.70 more than their single counterparts annually - a figure which soared to £228.01 in one case.
Married men tend to fare better than women, saving an average of £106.88 on their car insurance premiums annually, compared with £58.51 for women. However, this could be attributed to the fact that single men's premiums are initially considerably higher than those of their female counterparts.
