- Pop-Top Camper Bus - West Coast Classics are proud to present a beautifully restored rust free example of this 1972 Volkswagen Pop-Top Camper Bus with a rebuilt VW (Porsche specs 914) engine with dual Weber carbs, a custom exhaust and with original features including pop-top camping roof, refrigerator, sink, fold out tables and rear bench seat that folds down into a double bed with a storage box underneath!
The original southern California owner purchased the bus in 6/1972 from VW of Culver City, California and sold the van to only it's second southern California owner in 1978 with all it's original owner's manuals, instruction manuals and original dealer purchase invoice ($4,269.57) and the van has always been lovingly kept and babied in Redondo Beach, California since that time! There is no history or evidence of any accidents and no rust whatsoever. The van has been completely restored over the last few years with a gorgeous yellow and white paint job, all new tinted glass windows (louvers removed) and mirrors and with a beautiful new rubber seat interior for water resistant seating and a wood veneer headliner and new pop-top canvas. The van received a recent pre-sale inspection at the renown VW specialists, 'Layne's Westside Independent' of Santa Monica, California. The bus is extremely powerful with it's high performance engine and is an absolute blast to drive! The 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool.
