The Used Car Dealership of Ontario (UCDA) is an excellent resource to Canadians who are a registered motor vehicle owner in Ontario. This means that this private citizen may become part of the Used Car Dealership of Ontario and enjoy the benefits of that this non profit organization has to offer.
The Used Car Dealership of Ontario was established on November 15, 1984 by seven car dealers looking to make a difference in the relationship between the car dealer and the car consumer. This non profit organization throughout its twenty three years of experience has grown into a staff of 19 members under the leadership of an Executive Director and a Board of Directors consisting of nine members.
The Used Car Dealership of Ontario has a membership of 4400 car dealer members. Of these 4400 car dealers, roughly sixty percent of those car dealers are active in the industry of used cars. The Used Car Dealership of Ontario promotes the use and the purchase of used cars from car dealers around the area. The reason is simple. Most new cars are depreciated in the first few years of use. By purchasing a used car from a car dealer, this could save one thousands of dollars rather than buying a new car from a car dealer.
Over the years used cars have had a tainted reputation in which the Used Car Dealership of Ontario is trying to salvage. The majority of used cars bought from car dealers are rather good purchases. However, there are “car dealers” who are not car dealers at all and many people fall into the trap of buying from them. As people buy from these crooked people posing as car dealers, they find out that the car that they have just purchased is in poor conditions, that it is stolen or that it is on its way to the junk yard. This has given old and used cars from car dealers a bad reputation. Therefore the Used Car Dealership of Ontario has made it its vow to create a new image for used cars that demonstrates the benefits while also warning the public about these false car dealers in order to enhance people’s belief regarding the used vehicle industry.
In order to do this, the Used Car Dealership of Ontario works with a variety of sources in order to relay its message of used cars from trustworthy car dealers. Some working relationships with the Used Car Dealership of Ontario include the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations, Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, CADA, AARO, CVMA, AIAMC, AIA and the NIADA.
The Used Car Dealership of Ontario has worked on a variety of cases in order to promote its goals including the following: GST, Dealer Regulations, Import Regulations, Vehicle Permit Branding, Vehicle Safety Standards, Vehicle Emission Testing and Curbsider studies.
Car dealers have had a tough time trying to break the stigma that buying used cars is a lower, more insecure purchase than buying a brand new car. The Used Car Dealership of Ontario is using and has been using its resources for nearly 25 years in order to change these views among the citizens in Ontario and around the nation. |
