Chevrolet El Camino
- This is a 1979 El Camino with a 350 in fair to good condition. This El Camino runs very well but needs some work, it doesnt really need any mechanical work but it does need some other stuff. The exterior is black over silver two tone and the interior is black. The motor is a 5.7 350 with automatic transmision, power brakes, and power steering. The rear is a 10 bolt with limited slip differential. I'm not sure what gears are in it but they feel like 3:08's. The transmission looks like either a 250 or 350 but I'm not sure. There is a vinyl bed cover on it that is in very good condition. I was told it was an SS and the dash reads SS but I dont think it is. DRIVE TRAIN: The motor runs very well, it has a Holly four barrel, Edelbrock Torker intake and air cleaner, long tube headers into fairly new dual exhaust, fan clutch, electronic ignition, fresh tune up, and chrome valve covers. - ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: Matches vin on dash. JK 396/325. Now professionally rebuilt less than 1,000 miles since rebuild. $6,100.00 in receipts including balancing and broke in on engine dyno with all specs available. 9:6-1 compression, runs on 93 octane perfectly. Engine Dyno specs: 478 lbs of torque @3900 rpm, 427 h.p. @ 5400 rpm through stock exhaust manifolds and 2 1/2 inch exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. Engine retains stock look except for the intake and carb. Engine is bored 30 over and sounds great. Very street friendly and rides smooth. Also has new LS6 radiator. Engine runs cool, no extra cooling items needed. This engine was built in Florida before we moved to Tennessee. Always ran cool in the Florida heat. It has a rebuilt turbo 400 with a 2300 stall converter and shift kit. Easy driver with power. INTERIOR: Blue with bench seat. Passenger head rest is just starting to seperate along one seam due to age. It has a monster tach and oil and water temp guages. It has new carpet and is nice. - Used Chevrolet El Camino for sale

- I have for sale a 1978 El Camino. I have owned the vehicle for approx 22 years. Purchased vehicle in 1988 and drove as my primary vehicle until 1995.Acquired 350 (4 bolt main) motor which came out of a 1977 Cheyenne 4 x 4 and rebuilt it with kit from Summit around 1993. Body shop took doors off, windows out (front and back), sandblasted the bed, replaced hood, disassembled front cap and repainted entire car in black. Pin striped red. At that point I installed rebuilt motor. Motor is painted chevy orange with lots of chrome. Speedometer didn't work after this because I took all crise control off linkage from carb. Has Rochester quadra jet carb, which has also been rebuilt with new floats and seals. Has Dynomax headers which are attached to plain straight pipe all the way to the back. Transmission is a 350 turbo which has never been rebuilt because I have never had any trouble with it nor have I ever used the car for pulling purposes.
