Pontiac GTO Pontiac GTO Coupe For Sale - West Coast Classics is proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this all original and completely rust free 1964 Pontiac GTO coupe with it's original matching # 389cid/348HP Tri-Power V8 engine with dual exhausts with only some 42K original, although undocumented, miles and complete with original owner's manual and PHS Documented paperwork! Finished in it's original factory 'Alamo Beige' color paint with a 'Singapore Gold' hardtop with it's original factory 'Light Saddle' completely original interior and original hubcaps. Purchased from a Michigan car collector some 15 years ago by Los Angeles television producer and always garage kept and covered! The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has had no major accidents of any kind - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new! The car looks extremely impressive in it's original factory 'Alamo Beige' color paint with a 'Singapore Gold' hardtop and the 'Light Saddle' interior which is in exceptional and completely original condition with only very minor imperfections noticeable upon close inspection; in particular there is a small nick in the fabric of the driver's door armrest! The car has all it's original logos and came factory equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the temperature always remains cool! This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and never abused example of an always garaged and rust free 1964 Pontiac GTO in very fine condition throughout with it's highly desirable original matching number engine! Although obviously not a concourse example, this remains a very rare and highly desirable and collectible unabused example of one of the outstanding GM designs of the sixties, the GTO option package for the Tempest created a new type of vehicle by shoehorning a big block engine into a medium sized car - the muscle car, starting a trend lasting almost ten years before the fuel crisis of 1973! With it's lightweight body and 348 horses under the hood, the 1964 GTO was unlike any other car at the time. The 389 cubic inch V8 is the centerpiece of the GTO package and with the Tri-Power carburetion of three two barrel carburetors it boasted 348 bhp. All first generation GTO's have a special place in collector's hearts as the first of the muscle car species and enjoy milestone status.
