- I am selling my 1988 MERA #8140 (140 of 247 the cars that were built). This car is the #52 built in 1988. For more info on the history of the MERA cut and paste this link: http://www.fiero.net/mera/article.html The MERA is one of the most interesting collectible cars in recent years. It was sold through Pontiac Dealership, as brand new cars only. The factory was shut down down due to legal action from Ferrari in 1988. Only a few cars, less than 90, are believed to have survived, scattered throughout the US and other countries. I bought this car in March 2009 the prior owner disclosed that the chasis had 103,000 miles and I've probably put another 5,000 to date. Other work he stated had done recently; New shocks, new brakes, 34000 mile engine with new gaskets, seals, water pump, distributor, Accel 8.5mm wires, new coil, injectors, rebuilt automatic transmission, rebuilt headlight motors, new fuel pump and gas tank sending unit, cruise control works fine. - Used Pontiac Fiero for sale

This is a modern Port Fuel Injected engine, not a carburetor powered V8 as you will often see swapped into cars because they are easier. 4t60e Automatic transmission. Ed Parks "swap kit" used for everything. Wiring harness and all mounts as well as the axles were made by professionals. New heavy duty clutch, new master cylinder and slave cylinder. Rebuilt steering rack. New door weather seals. Calipers painted red. Fiero floor mats. Added GT rear sway bar, GT gauge package, short throw shifter, clear turn signal lamps, and exhaust test pipe (no catalytic converter or air pump). Needs replacement oil pressure gauge and one turn signal bulb socket. Total mileage is estimated at 112,000 (gauges were replaced). The 1988 model has a completely different suspension and improved engine compared to the earlier models. Handling is fantastic. Car was purchased from owner in South Carolina. Never used in winter. It has a new coat of paint that is not show quality. It would need to be painted again. It has new seat covers. I have not taken off the seat covers so I do not know what is underneath.
