- RENAULT SAFRANE 2.0 EXECUTIVE MANUAL Launched in 1993, the Renault Safrane was the top-spec car from the French marque, which they hoped would be able to take on the mitre of Mercedes and BMW. The car was fully loaded with almost every possible accessory, and priced at a keen Ā£25,000 was considerably cheaper than its main rivals. In 1997, the Safrane had a facelift, with a revised grill, bootlid and suspension and a few tweaks under the bonnet and inside. This example is a 1998 R reg, and is a very tidy car for its age.
