Dodge, Dodge's History

Dodge cars is a United States car automobile maker who specializes in automobiles and trucks in particular. Dodge cars are sold under the Chrysler LLC. These cars are not only popular in the United States but rather in the whole world. There are over sixty countries that carry the Dodge automobiles.

In 1900, two brothers, the Dodge Brothers (Horace and John Dodge), established the Dodge Brothers Company in Detroit by supplying parts and grew into a production company of cars fourteen years later, in 1914. Just two years later, Dodge was ranking number two on the list of best selling cars in the United States. It continued to be stay in second place until 1920. In this fatal year, both Dodge brothers, John and Horace passed away respectively from two different events. In John passed away from pneumonia and later in December, Horace passed away from cirrhosis most likely caused by the depression of the loss of his brother. The company was passed onto the wives of the brothers and in a joint decision was passed over to Frederick Haynes who had been one of the first employees at Dodge. As the president of the company, Haynes released the Model 30 Dodge which transformed into the Series 116 Dodge automobile.

Dodge soon become known as a leader in the production of light trucks but was stalling in development after a while which was shown by the fall from second to fifth place in the United States automobile sales in 1925. Therefore, the company was sold to Dillon, Read and Company in that same year. Minor changes were made to the Dodge car but 1927 saw a large change with the introduction of the Senior six cylinder. Even though this addition gave the car a great change, Dodge could not recover from its losses and continued to drop to seventh in sales in the United States and Dillon, Read and Company decided to sell Dodge to Chrysler in 1928 where it has pretty much remained under for the rest of its existence.

Throughout the years Dodge found itself n various times of crisis and in prosperity. For every low that the Dodge Company has hit, it has always managed to bounce back and be stronger than before. Despite these adversaries, Dodge has continued to be in the limelight always coming out with innovative technologies and designs and has continued to be one of America's favorite cars. Dodge cars are reliable and trustworthy, especially in its truck department. Once again, the Dodge Company is present in over sixty countries, representing North American automotives in the automotive industry. There are very few top ten lists that do not include Dodge cars because they have been known for their excellence and continues technological advancements.
